[so ishi is out in the courtyard, minding his own business around some plants, when someone else's presence gets him to glance up--

and whatever greeting he had in mind immediately goes out the window at the sight of ray.]

[that's... that sure is something! it sure is distracting.

on second glance, ishi's got a few plants in his arms; he's been doing a little harvesting out here, seems like.]

Well, I suppose that makes you rather easy to find. You aren't busy, are you?

[he doesn't comment further on how very sparkly ray is this week, at least, just nodding his head toward the greenery instead.]

Though specific plants would depend on if I'm familiar with them, of course.

Ah, perfect. Would you mind giving me a hand with these, then?

[he'd thought ray might know a few things, given that list of skills, but he wasn't certain.]

If you're unfamiliar with any, I can explain their uses, if you'd like. I believe I know most of them.

[and if ray doesn't mind, he'll pass over what he already has, which is mint & chamomile. not a lot, but enough to work with for now.]

Not quite. They were already planted here, it seems... I'm simply harvesting what might be useful, particularly since we have no infirmary.

Good idea. I asked Justice and he offered to provide an infirmary when he's host for the week, but until then...

[or never if justice never gets to be host.]

Until then, we will have to make do, though that's certainly good to hear.

[there's a brief, soft sigh from him as well, before he delves into some nearby plants.]

I was told that these may vary depending on who hosts, as well, so perhaps there will be other helpful ones in the future.

Depends on what your definition of "helpful" is. Some of the gods picked their rooms based on what they thought would help, but it's not always what everyone needs.

Well-- they already are not all helpful. I've identified multiple toxic plants on top of those with medicinal uses.

Those are helpful for killing someone.

I would prefer to think that not so many of us could be pushed into doing so. Perhaps that's a little too optimistic of me, though.

Probably. If it's going to happen, I bet it'll be after curfew on Thursday. That's got to exist for a reason, right?

I would assume so. If nothing else, it seems like it would be an opportune time.

Especially if it's supposed to be some kind of mystery that we're to solve during the trial.

Yup. That's what it suggests in Above Suspicion, and one of the gods confirmed it. Not that they were happy about it, though.

... I had hoped that might refer to something entirely separate.
