That is what happened to my vision. I'm not sure just what she got into my eyes, but it doesn't seem to be improving much.

[ Ah. They assumed as much. They glance off to the side with an acknowledging nod. There's a troubled look on their face, but it's not because of what Ishikirimaru did - it's because of what Catra and Entrapta did. Mizuki had liked Catra decently enough. Then again, they'd liked Guy, too. ]

... I see. Good work. [ they shake it off quickly, looking back up at him with a serious expression. They're still concerned about his eyes, but they've got some business to get through first. ] You don't think you need my ability's protection, in other words. Does your companion?

They may, though that will depend on how tomorrow goes. Their injuries have been seen to, but...

[he shakes his head, there.]

I do not know what to expect, honestly. We intend to hold off on sharing that information since it will likely point to people who were close with Ray, but my other wounds may make it difficult for me to avoid suspicion. I suppose if nothing else, I can say if they are noticed that it was not me and they may check for truth if they like; it will be factual if they do.

I think that's the right thing to do. As we've seen with Guy-kun, people aren't so comfortable sending killers to "justice" when the gods aren't doing it for them. [ do they sound bitter about this? yes. They don't bother hiding it in front of Ishikirimaru. ] If you need my protection, just let me know. I don't think it'll be too hard to keep the group off track during the trial, but even if they manage to pin you and your partner down, that doesn't mean you've lost. I'm on your side.

... thank you, Mizuki-san. I hope it does not come to that, but-- will you be willing to use it for someone else if we must? There will still have to be a vote, and if we are not caught...

[his frown deepens, expression clearly troubled.]

I can't allow us to send someone else to answer for what we have done. There will be no other guilty party to find, this time.

Mm. The only problem is that the god is the one being condemned. If it's someone with multiple followers, I have no way of knowing which one the god will choose to sacrifice.

[ if it's someone who really isn't guilty, Mizuki won't want them to die, either. ]

I might be able to make an offering to the guilty god and find out if they're willing to share the information. That's the only way around it I can come up with right now.

I doubt any of them will want to lose a follower who did nothing wrong, if that turns out to be the case.

[by which he means "if guy's isn't an option"; ishi doesn't like the thought, but he's aware they all know.]

I can plan to come along, if you like. If anything must be done to get that information, then I won't leave it to you alone.

Thanks, Ishi-san. That might help. I'm more concerned that telling us who they're going to execute would be against the rules rather than something they won't tell me specifically, however...
